A Beginner's Guide to Vastu Placement for Energy Tools

Most people buying their first crystal or pyramid make the same quiet mistake: they choose by aesthetic and place by instinct. Vastu placement asks a different question. Not which corner looks best when it is empty, but which planetary and elemental influence already governs that corner — because in the Vedic reading, every direction is occupied long before you put anything there.

This is a beginner's guide in the true sense. You do not need to own a single energy tool to use it. Our hope, as with everything we share openly, is that even a reader who never writes to us leaves with a sharper understanding of their own home.

The eight directions, briefly

Vastu Shastra teaches that a building is a living organism, and that each direction is governed by a planet, a primary element, and a purpose. Honour the directional ruler and you dissolve what the tradition calls Vastu Dosh — the small structural disharmonies that no amount of decor will fix on its own.

• ◇North-East (Ishan) — Jupiter, water. Spirituality, wisdom, wealth. The corner for a prayer altar or a wealth yantra.
• ◇East — the Sun, fire and light. Fame, leadership, vitality, new beginnings. The direction for a crystal life tree.
• ◇South-East (Agneya) — Venus, fire. Wealth and relationships. Where Rose Quartz belongs.
• ◇South — Mars, fire. Courage and forward momentum. The wall for the seven horses.
• ◇South-West (Nairutya) — earth. Stability and protection, and the corner Vastu treats as most vulnerable. Where Black Tourmaline steadies a home.
• ◇West — Saturn, water. Career, discipline, and karma. The zone for Amethyst and focused study.
• ◇North-West (Vayavya) — the Moon, air. Peace, rest, networking. Where Moonstone and Selenite ease a bedroom.
• ◇North — Mercury, water. Business, education, cash flow. The direction of Kuber, and the natural home for pyrite and Green Aventurine.

Matching intention to direction

Once the directions are clear, placement becomes a matter of matching what you are trying to shift to the corner that already governs it. If the intention is calm, look to the north-west and the Moon. If it is business growth, look to the north and Mercury. If it is protection, look to the entrance and the south-west. The stone sets the intention and the direction sets the address — the two together are what turn an object into a placement.

A single tool placed rightly does more than three placed by instinct. Begin with the corner, not the object.

This is also why a pair of stones, chosen for resonance and set by direction, so often outperforms a single one. Citrine with Clear Quartz in the north-east holds a steady hum of prosperity. A pair of Rose Quartz in the south-west softens the daily edges of partnership. These are not additions for their own sake; they are conversations, and the direction is what lets them speak.

A simple room-by-room starting checklist

• ◇Entrance — a Ganesh ji or Swastik in pyrite, or a Hamsa facing outward, so every arrival passes through a blessing and a boundary.
• ◇Living room — the seven horses on a south or south-east wall for momentum; a Buddha frame where the intent is calm instead.
• ◇Home office or study — Green Aventurine or a pyrite turtle in the north for business; Amethyst in the west for focus.
• ◇Bedroom — Moonstone or a Selenite plate in the north-west for rest, and to keep the rest of your tools clear.
• ◇Puja room or meditation corner — a Navgrah or 7 Chakra pyramid in the north-east, the Ishan zone of divine grace.

Start with one room. A home is not aligned in an afternoon, and it is not meant to be. The tradition rewards attention taken slowly — the same unhurried steadiness we build every energy tool on.

When to bring in a full consultation

A checklist will carry you a long way, but it cannot read a floor plan.
